Notes from November 16, 2014’s sermon:
Before Jesus ascended to God, He made sure that those who followed Him knew, “I will always be with you.”
Our faith cannot be based on feelings. We might not feel like a child of God but it doesn’t change the fact that we are. I may feel like God isn’t there; however, it doesn’t mean He is gone. There are days when I feel that my life makes no impact. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Christ uses me every day, in ways that I might never see.
Love is more than a feeling. It is true and action and unconditional. We can allow ourselves to be overcome by emotion, by our feelings, or we can chose to believe the truth that extends far beyond emotion. The love of Christ is truth and the truth is that He came to be with us forever.
As the Holidays and their busyness and chances for the blues come along, remember that you are never alone. God is with you, even (and maybe especially) when you do not “feel” like He is.
