We as a church are often a house divided: 1.) Those who hold to the law/hold tightly to the rulebook, 2.) Those who believe that we are saved by faith and faith alone.
God sent out the laws of the Old Testament to everyone. But He recognized that the rules alone were no longer going to provide salvation for mankind, so he revised the rules, revised the answer to the need.
Humanity is fallible, incapable of perfection. Christ’s sacrifice erases the requirement of perfection and offers us grace and mercy.
What is required of us is that we love God and others.
We need to be careful that our faith doesn’t become legalistic. Legalism will tear the church apart and down.
Jesus’ succinct, perfect answer to those who questioned Him: “Love God. Love others. This is the law.”
We are all one in Christ’s love. No differences. All one.
