Discipline stays with us; it sticks in our memories, even if the reason escapes us.
“It is possible to do everything right and still fail.” — Jean Luc Picard, “Star Trek: The Next Generation”
Pain is an indicator that something is wrong, broken, bad for us, etc. God teaches us through pain; if we choose to see and learn. If there weren’t pain, how would we know relief?
Discipline is a sign of care, of love.
Through His discipline, God reminds us that He is still paying attention; He still cares about us, about our lives.
There is/can be joy in pain, dancing in mourning.
Our God has come down to us, removed the barrier, to interact with us, spirit to spirit.
God is love and grace as well as instruction and discipline. Both are required to help build a good life in us, a righteous spirit.
