Discerning The Fruit

Scripture: I Corinthians 12:1-11, John 15:1-8

Sermon Notes:

Not everyone is given the same gift or will bear the same fruit. Why then do we treat everyone as though they are the same tree?

We need to make sure that we are helping people, particularly young people, get into places and positions where their particular fruit can be trained, fed, and ripened for harvest.

You have to train ourselves to discern. God gives us passions and desires and talents to help us determine and discern our fruit.

In order to be of service to those in our churches, in our lives we need to:

  1. We have to know what young people are passionate about.
  2. We need to communicate with young people about their passions and where God might be leading them. We have to make sure to listen to them.
  3. The Holy Spirit will guide and help us see others as He does. To see where their passions and talents lie and help them develop those talents, not the ones we wish they had.

We are not raising just one type of passion or spiritual fruit. We are raising them all!
