Mary was trouble and scared and rightfully so. Bu she wasn’t alone. Her cousin Elizabeth was pregnant with the child who would become John the Baptist. Elizabeth was there to help Mary through the scary beginnings of a holy journey.

Neither Jesus nor John was anything that anyone was expecting, after all, especially not their mothers.

There is joy in the moment and hope for the future with Christ. It’s a process but one you can trustTake courage, friend, even when you are terrified because you can have great joy in this life.
