Following the Context Clues

Scripture: John 8:12-47

Context is the clarifying factor. When we misinterpret, it’s because we have taken it out of context.

We call God the Author and Perfector of our faith, and there is indeed a context to the Word He sent us.

The Holy Spirit was sent to us to confirm the context, the nature, and culture of what is being said in God’s Word.

Sometimes it is not simply a matter of opinion. Context limits the scope of interpretation in order to help us better understand the meaning and point.

God has a specific message to get across. Context and intention.
