Scripture: John 10
It is not as important that we compare what is the same in religions as it is to compare what is different.
Christianity differs in that it stresses that humanity cannot save itself. We need to be saved; we cannot save ourselves.
Many religions believe in ‘God’. Christianity believe that Jesus was not just “a man of God” but that he was God.
God came down to us in Jesus, to be with us, to show us how it [life] is to be done.
Jesus’ statements about God are all “I” statements, all first person: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” He was not blessed with power by God; rather, Jesus was embued with power because he was God.
Jesus boldly and plainly said, “I and the Father (God) are one.”
